Chris Shelkin is Smithsonian Networks' EVP, Finance, Operations and Business Development. He joined Showtime Networks in 1990 and has served in various executive capacities. In 2006, he was the first employee hired to help launch and develop Smithsonian Channel, a joint venture between Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Institution. He has headed the development of the Advertising Sales group, created distribution revenue strategy and has launched international channels.
Mr. Shelkin prevously served as Senior Vice President, Vice President and Director of Showtime Network's Direct-to-Home Finance group, leading a team that was responsible for $400 million in revenue. Prior to this, Mr. Shelkin held various positions at Showtime in Business Planning & Analysis, Marketing Analysis and Program Scheduling.
Mr. Shelkin received his BA in Communications from Hofstra University. He has also held board positions with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
