Dan Kupetz, Executive Vice President, Business Affairs, CBS Television Studios
Dan Kupetz was named Executive Vice President, Business Affairs, CBS Television Studios in 2013.
In his position, Kupetz is responsible for overseeing all “above-the-line” deals for the Studio’s development and production of scripted series, including series for CBS Network such as “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Blue Bloods,” “Elementary,” “Madam Secretary,” and “The Odd Couple,” programing for CBS All Access such as “Star Trek: Discovery,” and series for The CW such as the “Jane the Virgin,” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” Kupetz has played a leading role in negotiating license agreements on behalf of the Studio with a variety of platforms, including Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, TNT, TBS, USA and SyFy. Kupetz also oversees the Studio’s many overall term deals with writers, producers and directors.
Kupetz joined CBS Network in November 1999 as Associate Director, Business Affairs. In 2000, he was named Director, and in 2002, Vice President. In 2004, Kupetz joined CBS Television Studios as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs. Prior to joining CBS, he worked as an attorney in the legal affairs department at Touchstone Television.
Kupetz earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He has a law degree from the UCLA School of Law and a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
