MAKES THE TOP 10 FOR THE 19TH STRAIGHT TIME

60 MINUTES was Nielsen’s #1 primetime program last week. The CBS Newsmagazine drew 9.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. The top 10 finish was 60 MINUTES’ 19th straight – 14 of those weeks ranking at #5 or better.
The last time 60 MINUTES finished at #1 was on Oct. 25, the traditional hour-long candidates’ edition featuring Lesley Stahl’s interviews with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and interviews with their opponents on the Democratic ticket, former vice president Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), conducted by CBS EVENING NEWS anchor and managing editor Norah O’Donnell.
Sunday’s broadcast also ranked in the top 10 in demos, scoring a 1.3/06 in adults 25-54 to tie at #9 and an 08/05 in adults 18-49 to tie at #10.
Compared to the same night last year, 60 MINUTES was up +7% in viewers, +8% in adults 25-54, even in adults 18-49.
Sunday’s 60 MINUTES featured Bill Whitaker’s report on the rising incidence of threats and assaults on federal judges, Scott Pelley’s story on overwhelming war crimes evidence against Syrian President Bashar Assad and Lesley Stahl’s look at the QAnon conspiracy movement in the wake of the Donald Trump presidential defeat.
