Morgan Freeman

         Born in Memphis, Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman is one of the most recognizable figures in American cinema. His works are among the most critically and commercially successful films of all time, earning more than $4 billion in cumulative ticket sales. Freeman won the Academy Award for his role in “Million Dollar Baby” and was nominated for his performances in “Invictus,” “The Shawshank Redemption,” “Driving Miss Daisy” and “Street Smart.” In 2017 Freeman starred in the films “Going in Style” and the soon-to-be-released “Villa Capri.”

          He is the co-founder of Revelations Entertainment, whose past film productions include “5 Flights Up,” “The Magic of Belle Isle,” “Invictus,” the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning ESPN film “30 for 30: The 16th Man,” “Along Came a Spider,” “10 Items or Less,” “The Maiden Heist” and “Under Suspicion.”

           Freeman’s other film projects include “Now You See Me,” “Now You See Me 2,” “Oblivion,” “Last Vegas,” “London Has Fallen,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Olympus Has Fallen,” “The LEGO Movie,” “Transcendence,” “Lucy,” “Dolphin Tale” and “Dolphin Tale 2.”

         Additionally, Revelations produces the Emmy Award-nominated documentary series “Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman,” “The Story of God with Morgan Freeman” and most recently “The Story of Us.”

       In his spare time, Freeman loves the freedom of both sea and sky. He is a long-time sailor and has earned a private pilot’s license. In addition, he has a love for the blues and helps the genre thrive through his Ground Zero club in Clarksville, Miss., the birthplace of the blues. He is the founder of the Tallahatchie River Foundation, a non-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing early childhood education in rural Mississippi.
